Orchestra
Membership
Musicians gather
from the St. Louis metropolitan area for weekly rehearsals bound
by their love and passion for classical music. Member backgrounds
range from aspiring professional musicians to those returning to
music following careers and families. Youth blend with employed
and extends to those in retirement, while sharing in their dedication
to performing quality music. Membership is based on a commitment
to reach performance standards that challenge everyone. New members
are expected to play an audition for the conductor.
Membership in
the T&C Symphony Orchestra requires:
- Accepting
the responsibility to attend weekly rehearsals
- Constant
practice to master the music performed and improve one's abilities
- Willingness
to join in fun of exploring new music
- Joy in presenting
the results of our efforts to our public
Prospective
members usually attend a rehearsal as a trial opportunity. New members
are expected to play an informal audition for the conductor. Membership
is not restricted by proficiency, but commitment and intent play
a major role in acceptance and our mutual objective to reach performance
standards that challenge everyone.
